Avatar Has To Be Feeling The Hurt

Hey! I hope all of you had a grand ol' weekend, I know I did. With Alice and the Oscars who wouldn't have a good time?! Those are the only two things I'm going to talk about in this post. Because those are the only things that matter from this weekend.

Up first, Alice. This movie was a visually enticing masterpiece, costumes and all. The acting was great on all parts and the story was a great compilation of both stories. I really thought that it was a great movie and I would not mind seeing it again and I probably will with my group of friends.

Oscar time! I was completely surprised by the amount of awards The Hurt Locker won. I thought, "Ok, Avatar is going to sweep the whole show," but it only won three awards and they were for like visual effects and cinematography. The Hurt Locker won six of the nine awards it was nominated for. The Red Carpet was pretty uneventful in terms of terrible dresses. I loved Sandra Bullock's dress! It was one of my favorites. As always, Jake Gyllenhaal looked AMAZING! I am excited for Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time, his new movie. It is due out in May and it looks great. He is a great actor and a major hottie. Sandra Bullock took Best Lead Actress over Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges took Lead Actor over George Clooney, who I thought would win it. The best part of the night was probably when Ben Stiller came out to present for Best Make-up. This is what he looked like...\/

I busted up laughing and couldn't stop to even pay attention to what he was presenting for. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were fantastic hosts and the show, to me, was a success. I was on the phone with Owen, my lovely co-commentator, the entire time until my phone died. I am sad that award season is over but there is always next year. In my mind, there are 5 seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter, and awards season.

Tonight on TV we have yet another over-dramatic episode of Secret Life, Life Unexpected, and Fashion Police from the Oscars. I'm looking forward to 2/3 of those. Write Soon!
